Bisi Olawuyi, a lecturer at the University of Ibadan (UI), has denied giving money to his students after classes resumed.
On Tuesday, the arts educator and public speaker responded with a tweet.
Following the assertion made in a tweet that spread rumors about his purported gesture, Olawuyi responded.
“An art lecturer at the University of Ibadan gave each of the ten students who attended his first class $100.00,”
wrote @peter pentane.
The tweet received a number of responses after becoming popular and being shared by blogs.
Respondents expressed interest in learning how Olawuyi gained money in light of the recent end to the strike by university faculty members.
“A tweet that is going around claims that I provided $100 to each of 10 pupils. In no way is this true. Please don’t mind,”
The audience heard from the speaker.
The eight-month strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) was just put on hold.
